We pray in truth from the sorrow of trials, afflictions, anguish & sin. Yet our prayers shift to unwavering trust in God’s love & justice. He hears our cries. His redemptive plan for us prevails.

Based on Ps 102 “Hear my prayer, God, let my cry for help come to You…Listen closely to me in the day of my distress…I forget to eat…I can’t sleep…mingled with my drink is my weeping. I have eaten ashes with my bread…I wither like grass. But You abide forever, rise in mercy. Be gracious now…the appointed time has come…It is written for those who are to come. A people yet created may praise the Lord…You gaze down to earth from heaven…hear the prisoner’s cry, set free those doomed to die so they may praise You. Long ago, You made the earth, the heavens …Even they will perish Lord, but You will endure. You’ll change them like a garment, as robes, they’ll pass away. But You are the same, but You are the same”

“Lord, hear my prayer & my cry. Do not hide Your face in the day of my trouble. In the day I call answer me speedily. Hear the groaning of the prisoner…release those appointed to death. We will declare & praise Your name & serve You in Jerusalem. Amen”
