Based on Ps 78 “People, listen…hear the mysteries… O, God, open our ears…we’ve heard…let us hear… God divided the sea & let them pass thru it… God led by cloud in the day, with fire at night
…God split the rock for drink…opened the skies for bread from heaven…in spite of all this we sinned…rebelled again… God made the river blood…swarms to devour…crops…vine…flocks destroyed…when the path was made from death God would not save… God struck down Egypt’s firstborn…God led His people out
…In spite of all this we sinned…rebelled again…Full of wrath God rose…His own laid low…young, strong, men fell… God’s glory into fire all consuming…no marriage joy…priests fell by the sword…the widows, lonely…but then God… but then God…Full of compassion, His anger restrained God remembered us again… with a kind, just, heart & a skillful hand God remembered us again”
