Questions, Answers & Prayer:

We may pray in times of deep suffering & feeling abandoned by God as when Jesus said: “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”…& Job said: “Though He slay me yet I will trust in Him.” Jesus & Job show us how to overcome by returning God’s sincerity, honesty & patient steadfastness & by clinging to God’s proven goodness & trustworthiness?

Based on Ps 88:1-18 “O God, of my salvation I cry out day & night. May my prayer come now before you. Will You listen to my cry? My soul is full of troubles & death, it draws near. With no strength, I’m like the slain in the grave whom You no longer recall. Darkness is my only friend. In the darkest places & the deeps Your wrath lies heavy upon me. You’ve overwhelmed me with Your waves. I’m trapped & cannot escape. My eyes grow dim in sorrow every day I call You, Lord. I open up my hands do You do wonders for the dead? Do departed rise to praise You, does Your love come from the grave? Are Your wonders known in Sheol or good where those forget? Darkness is my only friend. Why do You hide Your face from me? Near demise since youth. Your wrath, Your assaults all around. I suffer Your horrors, I’m needy. Darkness is my only friend. Darkness is my only friend.”

“Lord, in confusion, pain & feeling devastated: Keep me loyal, faithful & obedient whatever the cost, trusting in Your goodness & loyalty. Amen”
