Jesus sets Jerusalem apart as the most unique city on earth. Why does Jesus command us to love & pray for Jerusalem?

Based on Mt 5:35; Ps 122:6; Isa 66:10-11 “Jesus calls it His own city…Jesus promises to protect, bless & guide in a special way all who pray, love or mourn for Jerusalem”

“Lord, we pray for the city of King Jesus…the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, bounty within…your palaces…Rejoice with Jerusalem…be glad with her, all you who love her; Rejoice for joy with her, all who mourn for her…feed & be satisfied with the comfort of her bosom drink deeply be delighted with the bounty of her glory. Amen”
