David is a man after God’s own heart because he has a contrite & humble heart of humility & love:

Based on Ps 25:1-22 “To You, God, I lift up my soul…no one who waits on You, all the day, will see disgrace. Those who betray You will be exposed… Show, teach & lead me in Your ways…Be merciful to me & pressure me into humility, grace & truth so You will guide me in justice, Your way & all of Your paths of mercy & truth. Cause me to delight in & treasure the fear of God. Your secrets are with those who fear You. You have shown Your love from ages past. It exists thru history. Forgive my sinful youth. For Your goodness God, my eyes are always on You. Amen”
